Secretary (voluntary), Museum of Oxford Development Trust

Description

The Museum of Oxford Development Trust is seeking a voluntary secretary with the option to also become a trustee should the role holder wish to do so. It is an exciting time in the Museum of Oxford’s development with a major £3.2million project. The Trust is essential for supporting this transformation.

The Museum of Oxford is the only museum dedicated to telling the story of Oxford and its people. Opened in 1975, it is now being refurbished to better tell this history. It is a unique offer in a city of World-Class museums covering everything from the Saxons to the Victorians, to Oxford’s industrial and sporting heritage.

The Museum of Oxford Development Trust is a relatively new charity which supports the work of Oxford City Council’s Museum Team. The major capital project to transform the museum is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Fundraising is on-going with the Development Trust being essential for reaching an ambitious target. The trust is also committed to ensuring the Museum of Oxford’s future sustainability and development.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees. We welcome applications from all sections of the community. The requirements and desired qualities and experience for the role are detailed in the role description.
