Business Affairs Executive - Young Audiences Content Fund, The British Film Institute

We are seeking a Business Affairs Executive to provide legal and business affairs support and advice principally to the Young Audiences Content Fund (YACF).

For background, this is a new team set up as the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has allocated £57m over three years to the BFI for the Young Audiences Content Fund to address a decline in commissioning content for children and young audiences. It will be a major new opportunity for creative UK content makers and commissioners to partner on the production and development of projects that embrace the values of public service broadcast content

The Business Affairs Executive - YACF will draft and negotiate production finance agreements, development agreements and other related documents for all funding to be provided through the YACF; and will work with the Head of YACF in evolving the Fund’s strategy and policy throughout the 3 year Pilot phase.

The successful candidate will be a qualified lawyer with a thorough and demonstrable understanding of and experience of the children’s production and broadcast landscape in the UK and internationally. You will have a proven track record specialising in commercial and entertainment law, with an emphasis on television broadcast commissioning and licence agreements, finance plans, distribution and sales, contract law and copyright.
