Records and Freedom of Information Manager

Full-time, 40 hours per week

£35,000 per annum

Fixed term until the end of June 2020

We are currently seeking a Records and Freedom of Information Manager to join our Archive and Library team on a full-time basis.

The Records and Freedom of Information Manager will be responsible for managing all Freedom of Information Act requests received by the Gallery. They will advise colleagues across the Gallery on complex issues relating to Freedom of Information and Data Protection compliance. An advanced understanding of the legislative requirements of both is key to this role, to support best practice by staff.   

Reporting to the Senior Archive and Library Manager, the Records and Freedom of Information Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of effective records management policy and efficient procedures for the maintenance and disposition of all Gallery records in accordance with institutional, statutory and fiscal requirements.  Based in the Heinz Archive & Library, the post holder will oversee the management of the Gallery’s semi-current and current records in all formats and media, and advise staff in other departments on the management of their records and information.

 The successful candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in records management, will be able to demonstrate experience and skills gained within a Records Manager role, ideally in a museum or heritage organisation or similar environment, and will be a confident communicator, with the ability to liaise with a range of staff at all levels within an organisation and to persuade colleagues.
