Painting Course Leader (Year-long Courses), Leith School of Art

Leith School of Art is an independent college with charitable status and was founded 30 years ago in the inspiring Norwegian church building, near the old port of Leith, Edinburgh. The School has built an outstanding reputation for student-centred tuition and an inclusive community ethos.

The post provides an exciting opportunity for a practising artist and experienced teacher with a passion and vision for art education, in keeping with the Aims of Leith School of Art.

The post holder will lead the Painting Course, teaching 2.5 days a week and will be assisted by a second tutor, teaching one full day a week.  In the 2.5 days, time is allowed for planning, preparation and administration, student reviews and occasional tutorials or mentoring sessions for our graduates in residence.

Hours of work are 8.30am to 5pm, allowing time for setting up and clearing up. Preparation of lectures and occasional meetings are to be undertaken outside of these hours.

The post holder will be required to promote the course at School Open Days and conduct interviews with prospective students. The extra hours required during term time are balanced with a generous allocation of annual leave.

Please contact for an application pack.  Visit our website for further details about the School -  Closing date: Wednesday 27th February 2019.
