To help us continue inspiring futures, the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford are seeking a full time Explainer, on a permanent contract.

In this role, you will share stories about our unique collections and will present engaging performances including workshops, tours, science shows, and storytelling to our diverse audiences – revealing wonder to all. You’ll be presenting interactive, fun and educational shows to groups of up to 120 people, including families and schools. You’ll get to be involved in our amazing shows such as “Exploring Space”, “Light It Up” and “Bring the Thunder!”.

Drawing on your experience of performing, you will deliver engaging shows with good pitch, pace and tone. You’ll have excellent communication skills, with an enthusiastic approach and dramatic flair. You will understand how people learn in different ways and will be able to tailor your approach to the audience, helping to bring our museum's story to life, igniting our visitor's curiosity and supporting lifelong learning.

Please be aware flexible working will be required in this role including some public holidays and weekends.
