The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or who are making British history and culture. In recent years the Gallery has attracted around 2 million visits and is among London’s most popular museums. It reaches and engages these, and further UK and global audiences, with its extensive display, exhibition, research, learning, outreach, publishing, digital and national programmes.

Retail Sales Assistant
Fixed term until 28 June 2020
40 hours per week (average)
£22,273 per annum

We are currently seeking a full time Retail Sales Assistant to work as part of a small team, which operates up to four retail outlets and the Gallery’s online shop. With relevant retail experience, you need to be reliable and flexible with an enthusiasm for sales and excellent customer service to ensure visitors get the most from their visit. 

The Retail Department operates a staff rotation system in order to service its visitors seven days a week, with extended opening hours on Friday evenings. Flexibility with regard to your working hours is required in this role. Please ensure you can commit to the rota available prior to applying.
