Bare Lit Festival is an annual, South East London-based literature festival celebrating the work of writers of colour. The festival brings together poets, journalists, playwrights and novelists of colour with readings and discussions, performances and debates, networking opportunities and workshops.
An exciting opportunity to lead marketing for Bare Lit Festival in 2020, our fifth anniversary edition. The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for the research, planning and delivery of external promotion for Bare Lit Festival 2020. They will also support partnership development and community outreach.
Create audience focused communications strategy in collaboration with directors to ensure sales and audience targets are met
Create sales and audience targets with directors and engage in continuous monitoring of success to meet these
Work with Press Officer to maximise coverage
Test different methods and tools
Implement target-focused and consistent strategy across all channels including offline, website, facebook, twitter and instagram
Communications delivery across all channels
Produce digital content and ensure all information is well-presented and in line with brand identity
Identify opportunities to increase ticket promotion, sales and income
Maintain and develop new partnerships
Support community outreach
Skills and experience
At least three years of experience in marketing and communications
Results-focussed and flexible
Interest in the aims of the festival
Fluent with the use of Google docs
Proven content creation and graphic design skills (able to use Adobe Indesign; Adobe Premiere Pro)
Experience in devising and delivering social media campaigns and measuring their impact
Proven experience in running successful marketing campaigns
