Visitor Experience Manager 

Nothe Fort, Weymouth, Dorset 

Based in Weymouth, Nothe Fort is an important part of military and Dorset history, and is also a major tourist attraction.  We are looking for an experienced Visitor Experience Manager to be responsible for the management of the operational planning and delivery of the Nothe Fort public and private events programmes, and helping to ensure that visitors to the Fort receive a warm and informative welcome. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, ideally within a supervisory role, and will also possess good knowledge of and enthusiasm for social media, especially Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. 

You will have held a previous role in events management, ideally within one of the following contexts:  heritage properties, the charity sector, and/or the wedding industry.  This experience will include managing health and safety matters as well as budgets, and ideally you will have experience of managing volunteers. 

Your experience should demonstrate that you are a diplomatic communicator, with strong organisation skills and the attention to detail that is so important to ensuring the success of an event. 

This is a part-time, permanent position for three days (22.5 hours) per week with pro-rata remuneration of £18,000 per annum plus pension.  Applications for flexible working are invited, however please note that some evening and weekend work will be necessary to meet operational demands.
