IT Administrator, Natural History Museum


The Natural History Museum (NHM) is a world-class visitor attraction, leading science research centre and commercial event space.  We use our unique collections and unrivalled expertise to tackle the biggest challenges facing the world today.  We care for more than 80 million specimens, both in our London and Tring museums, spanning billions of years and welcome more than five million visitors annually. 

Our Technology Solutions team provide technology (Data Digital IT) support, infrastructure and consultancy services for the Museum, including administering technology procurement, maintaining fixed asset records and tracking operational spend and ensuring contract records are up to date. 

About the role

We require a motivated, proactive and adaptable individual to fulfil a varied and supporting role for our Technology Solutions department. 

You will provide administrative support for the team, managing a demanding workload in a responsive way. The role will be fulfilling a number of business processes as well as some departmental-specific duties.

You will be required to work closely with NHM internal departments such as Finance, HR and department operations team administrators and perform general administration and tasks for TS department.

About you

Ideally you will have office admin experience, with the ability to work well in a fast fluid environment. You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and a confidence to interact with museum staff at all levels.

Excellent IT skills (especially MS Excel, Powerpoint and Visio), and a talent in proactively organising, and planning your own workload will be essential.
