The Programming Department is responsible for securing and programming the diverse range of over 400 events held at the Hall each year in both the main auditorium and Beyond the Main Stage. In 2020 the Hall will be promoting nearly ninety performances in the 5,000 capacity auditorium which will account for around 25% of the total programme that appears in the auditorium. The team consists of five people and is supported by the wider Royal Albert Hall team to deliver these events.
We are seeking an experienced, highly organised and motivated Programming Executive to join this team and to be responsible for delivering a proportion of these events. The successful candidate will work across the entire of spectrum of events promoted and/or produced by the Hall, some of which will include: our successful Film with Live orchestra series; the Festival of Science; Love Classical; ballet performances; opera performances; rock and pop performances; and our performances within the Christmas season.
The Programming Executive will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of a world class programme. Liaising directly with artists, orchestras, choirs, agents and external partners.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working within the cultural sector and/or service delivery to major clients. Clear, effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to build and maintain key relationships.
Candidates will need a highly professional manner and excellent attention to detail, with strong administrative skills. The role would suit a confident team player, who thrives in a fun and fast paced environment.
Experience within the events industry, the arts and a good knowledge across musical genres is highly desirable.
