The Guildhall School Trust exists to support students and projects at the world leading Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As Chair of the Trust, Martin Moore has successfully led the charity for the past six years, and he will hand over to a new Chair in the summer of 2020.
We are looking for a successor with skills and experience in chairing a Board of Directors or Trustees, who is committed to the charitable aims of the Trust and the School. S/he should have an understanding of the role of charity trustees and of regulatory compliance and best practice in charities. S/he will need to to exercise networking and representative skills, and be willing to support fundraising activities. The role requires substantial skill in managing corporate and personal relationships, and a proactive approach to managing risk. Knowledge and experience of governance, strategy development, fundraising, finance, and investment management will be helpful.
If you have the relevant attributes would be interested in being considered for the role, please contact Rachel Davis (firstname.lastname@example.org), Manager and Secretary of the Trust, indicating the background to your interest. She will arrange for a discussion with the current Chair and/or the Trustees leading the Chair recruitment.
We are seeking to discuss the role with interested candidates by the end of March, with a view to a decision in April, and induction of a new Chair in the early summer of 2020.
