Artist Commission - Marlow Library, Buckinghamshire County Council

Marlow Library, part of the Buckinghamshire Library network, is being refurbished and this is an exciting opportunity to help us give the new library the wow factor!  The distinctive interior design of the library lends itself to a stunning new look, to banish blandness and celebrate the wider services on offer and enhance the appearance of the library space. We would like to commission an artist(s) or designer(s) to produce a permanent installation/ library artwork inspired by Marlow’s identity, that will maximise the impact of the distinctive interior of the library building.

We are seeking an artist(s) who will be able to use an aspect of Marlow’s identity to create an installation that complements the internal architecture of the library building.  We want the artist to be able to engage with the community in the development of the final concept.  We are looking for an artist with some experience of similar work, possibly delivered in a library, but certainly working in buildings at large scale, and with experience of a similar budget (£10k in total inclusive of £5k fabrication)
