Artist in Residence, St Joseph's Specialist Trust


Fixed term contract for 1 academic year (September 2020 to July 2021)

Actual Salary is £12,120 per annum for 35.5. hours per week during Term Time 

We are looking to employ an Artist-in-Residence to practice within their own studio on our site and offer specialist workshops and creative input across our curriculum.

This is the 6th year of our Artist-in-Residence programme and each artist has had a very different specialism.  We are open to all art forms which could include performance and sound as long as it is something our students can engage with and learn from.

We are a special school, college, children’s home and adult supported living houses. Our students are age 5-19 with severe social communication difficulties and complex learning disabilities.

Ideally, hours of attendance each week will be 8.30am – 4.00pm Monday, 8.30am – 4.15pm Tuesday to Thursday and 8.30am – 3.45pm on Friday during term time only (35.5 hours per week). At least 10 hours per week will be spent delivering workshops across the School. There is some flexibility and travel expenses will be available for the right candidate. If you are recruited, you will be required to complete Team Teach positive behaviour support training.
