Individual Giving Officer, National Portrait Gallery

Description

The National Portrait Gallery houses a unique collection of all forms of portraiture of the people who have made or are currently contributing to British history and culture; the collection is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world. With around 2 million visitors each year and a strong national and international presence through touring exhibitions and special projects, the Gallery is one of the country’s most important and popular galleries.

 

Individual Giving Officer

Full-time, 40 hours per week

£25,000 per annum

Permanent role

The Gallery receives around 30% of its funding though a government grant and has to generate the rest itself. Fundraised income from companies, individuals, trusts and foundations is a key element of this self-generated income.

The Individual Giving Officer plays a key role in the planning and successful delivery of the annual programme of events for the Gallery’s Patrons, ensuring that our Patrons receive the highest level of donor care at all times. In addition, you will provide high levels of administrative support across a range of tasks, assisting the contributing to the success and growth of the team.

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable administrative experience within an arts institution or charitable organisation, and high levels of tact, discretion and diplomacy. In return, you will be rewarded with the opportunity to develop as an individual as well as making a real difference to the Gallery and delivery of a range of activities and events.
