This is a full-time, temporary position (up to 12 months FTC to cover maternity leave) on Cricks Terms and Conditions of Employment.
One of the Francis Crick Institute’s strategic priorities is to engage and inspire the public through its education, public and community engagement programmes, backed by a body of active research scientists who have the skills, desire and opportunity to engage people in their work.
Building on successful initiatives already in place and adapting these in light of the Covid-19 global pandemic, the Public Engagement Officer (Exhibitions) will support the development an innovative exhibition programme at the Crick by assisting with the project management of temporary and permanent exhibitions. The candidate will support the delivery of our next major exhibition ‘Outwitting Cancer’ (opening in the Crick’s Manby Gallery in February 2021) and the development of an exhibition on genomic editing, and will also be involved in co-creating a public engagement programme of events and exhibitions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced museum or gallery professional to help deliver the public engagement programme at a world-class scientific research institute during an unprecedented period in history. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, well organised, and creative with a passion for engaging a broad range of audiences with science.
