Finance Director, The Watermill Theatre and Restaurant, Berkshire

The Watermill Theatre is seeking an accomplished Finance Director with excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills to join their senior management team and work closely with the Artistic & Executive Director and Board of Trustees to fulfil the responsibilities of providing a highly effective and efficient financial structure for one of the country’s leading regional producing theatres. 

The Finance Director will be responsible for budgetary control, treasury management, financial reporting and risk management of the organisation. They will also be responsible for the efforts, results, and success of their department. The Finance Director will be required to deputise as Company Secretary and trading subsidiary of Watermill Theatre Limited. 

The Watermill Theatre’s purpose is to create great shows that audiences love. From our home in a converted watermill in rural West Berkshire, which seats just 200 people, The Watermill has produced award-winning work that has been recognised throughout the UK and abroad. 

Alongside London transfers and national and international tours, we create productions for small-scale touring, ensuring that those living in rural isolation can enjoy high quality theatre on their doorstep. We also tour to schools taking scaled-down, vibrant productions of classic texts into the classroom to support students’ learning.  

We have a thriving education and participation programme, which creates engagement opportunities for over 19,000 people every year at The Watermill and in the wider community. 

Salary: Competitive according to experience
