Description

CREATIVE PRACTITIONERS WANTED

Project Brief:

We are looking for one or more creative partners to work with young people and staff to explore our enquiry question,

How can new technology help develop writing skills in our school?”

About our Project:

We wish to explore how the use of digital media can improve literacy in Y5. The curriculum has several IT based outcomes. We would like to find ways of making these meaningful and 'real' to the children and at the same time improve and extend their writing skills. We would also like to try to see if we can make a truly creative curriculum by using this project to combine the children's writing (they have expressed particular difficulty with punctuation) and IT skills in our History project on Tudor Exploration.

Our young people will be included in all aspects of this project and have already helped us to put together the brief. The Y5 Creative Council will also be interviewing shortlisted applicants.

Creative Practitioner Requirements:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in working with children.
  • Innovative ideas to bring to the project.
  • Enhanced CRB and Public liability Insurance.
  • A good sense of humour and a good listener.
  • Ability to collaborate with young people and staff.

Desirable:

  • The partner will have new techniques/equipment to bring into school.

Timetable:

Closing Date for applications 3/12/09

Interview 8/12/09.

Induction and Planning Day 15/12/09.

Project Delivery 22/02/10 to 26/03/10.

Budget:

£3000 fees with £1000 materials (practitioner fees £200 per day).

How to apply:

Please send your cv and supporting statement, including a brief of how you would carry out this project (no more than 2 sides A4) to:
