We manage the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize (www.artprize.co.uk), which is sponsored by Ashurst LLP, has a renowned panel of judges, and has had 23,000 entries to date by artists all over the world. We run a programme of events and curate exhibitions. We run the Ashurst Art Collection (www.ashurstart.com) and offer art advisory and dealing services.
We are looking for an individual to join the marketing and operations team for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize. This person will have some experience of marketing and education/working in the arts, are organised and can work with tight deadlines. The role offers exposure in curating, artist management, project management and partnership management. Training is offered whereever required. There is potential for career progression to leadership roles.
You will manage the project, liaise with artist/sponsors/partners, improve branding, manage the ecommerce platform, assist with enquiries, handle advisory and dealing tasks, execute exhibitions and compile information for the judges. Throughout this, our aim is to benefit emerging artists, promote our shortlisted artists, and manage the winners’ exhibitions.
The role begins as soon as possible, is part-time (2 days a week initially), pay level depends on experience, and includes training. The role is remote until the lockdown eases, but then requires you to be in London.
What We Are Looking For
Arts, marketing or business education/experience
Fluency in English, excellent writing and telephone skills
Passion for visual arts and working with artists
Being organised and can get things done
Experience working in galleries, exhibitions, museums, art fairs or as an artist’s assistant
Must be punctual, self-motivated, hard-working, and sociable.
Experience of creating marketing campaigns, particularly on social media platforms
Consulting or project management experience
