Community Partnerships Manager, City of London

The Barbican is Europe’s largest international arts and learning centre. We are committed to creating space for people and ideas to connect, within our vision of Arts without boundaries. We offer innovation in all major art forms including dance, film, music, theatre, and visual arts, underpinned by creative learning programme. Over a million people attend events annually. The Guildhall School is a world leading conservatoire and drama school, offering musicians, actors, stage managers and theatre technicians an inspiring environment in which to develop as artists and professionals.

We are looking for a Community Partnerships Manager to join our small and friendly Communities & Neighbourhoods team on a maternity cover contract, initially for 7months until end of March 2022, but with the likelihood of extending this until Sept 2022.

The role will be working on our Community Partnerships Programme. This programme is funded by Arts Council England and focuses on nurturing collaborative relationships between the Barbican and community organisations who work with people who are often excluded or ignored by dominant culture due to financial, health or social barriers.

You will lead the programme, managing current partnerships with Headway East London, Accumulate, Key Changes, Age UK, and May Projects as well as nurturing strong relationships and open communications with a wide range of locally based charities and community organisations.

You will play an essential convening role both within and beyond the organisation. Bringing together colleagues, peers, communities, and neighbours with different lived, learnt and practiced experience to share, learn and collaborate together.

Interviews will be held on Thurs 12th and Fri 13th Aug via zoom
