Costume Designer/Maker, Theatre Space NE CIC

Description

We are looking for a costume designer/maker to support our summer season productions. The project will include designing costumes for the 2 outdoor site responsive productions (Macbeth and a Midsummer nights dream) as well as making, buying, altering of existing stock and fitting. The shows are currently in early planning stage, and will be developed incorporating your ideas although we anticipate some contemporary references combined with historic elements - please see our website/Facebook for context of our previous productions. Macbeth is scheduled for end of July, with the Dream planned for end of August. The total fee is £3000 and materials budget of £1200. We have a work space within our company base in Sunderland which is available for use if needed, as well as an extensive existing wardrobe, and some casual/semi trained hands to assist. Casting will be complete by the end of April and so measurements for cast will be available from May. If you are interested in joining the team please send us an email with a brief CV and some photos of previous work by 6pm 23rd April to corinne@theatrespace.org.uk. A full brief for the work will be provided for short listed candidates. Informal interviews will be conducted on 29th or 30th April as suits either at our base or via zoom.
