Creative Assistant to the artists, Two Destination Language

Description

This is a freelance role across six months, with an average time commitment across the contract of 3 days per week, with exclusive services in the 6-17 September period. September 6-17 is a residency at East St Arts in Leeds, which will require the Creative Assistant’s attendance; other work can be performed at locations by mutual agreement but since the company is based at ARC Stockton, and the directors live near Berwick-upon-Tweed, it is likely to suit candidates based in the northeast. (This is not a barrier to applying from other places, but please consider how you would travel for in-person meetings/events, and the time commitment involved.)

Starting date is negotiable, but as soon as practically possible.

The fee for this contract is £7,523. This is a freelance post and applicants should understand that they are responsible for their own tax and national insurance.

The role will involve working from home or another space the candidate can access; good internet access will be needed.

The successful candidate will work alongside Two Destination Language’s directors as they plan and deliver creative projects while managing the charity, supporting the organisation’s ambitious plans and contributing to the cultural sector. This includes:

  • Administrative and production management tasks which may include research, venue liaison, partner liaison, artist liaison, logistics

  • Fundraising: planning, writing and reporting on applications

  • Development and implementation of marketing plans including social media

  • Work with professional artists and non-professional community members on creative projects

  • Working with other artists and the public on engagement and delivery activity
