Freelance PR Consultant, Aspex Visual Arts Trust

Aspex Visual Arts Trust, Portsmouth, has secured the support of Arts Council England for a series of new commissions and projects planned to celebrate its 40th anniversary. ‘Aspex (life begins) at 40’ includes four new digital art commissions by artists Bettina Fung, Hardeep Pandhal, Jaf Yusuf, and NT, to be premiered on their new website this Summer.

The grant will also provide the financial support needed to ‘Bring Back the Southsea Dinosaur’ – the long-awaited tribute to Luna Park by Heather and Ivan Morison, which was visited and enjoyed by thousands before burning down in 2010. The tribute will comprise a bronze sculpture and augmented reality version of the dinosaur on Southsea Common. These exciting projects will coincide with the expected reopening of Aspex on 19 May 2021, as well as the launch of their rebrand and new website.

Aspex is looking to recruit a PR consultant to develop and implement a promotional strategy for ‘Aspex (life begins) at 40’. You will be responsible for increasing awareness of the programme, as well as our wider public profile, supporting us to reach and engage with new and existing audiences.

Deadline for applications: Monday 12 April
