Heritage Outreach and Volunteers Officer, Pope's Grotto Preservation Trust

Description

With the National Lottery Heritage Fund's award of £247200 to Pope's Grotto Preservation Trust, our long-awaited project to conserve the grotto and to restore Alexander Pope to public awareness has been given permission to start. We are seeking an energetic and organised person for a part-time role

To provide support to the conservation of Alexander Pope’s Grotto and to engage local people of all ages, especially younger audiences, through education, outreach and shared activities including online activities, with partner organisations

To engage and support volunteers enabling local people of all ages to participate actively in their local heritage

To encourage a greater participation by a wider community, particularly audiences not previously engaged with heritage,  in the conservation of their local environment and in engagement in their local heritage

If you are a confident team player with enthusiasm for local heritage, skills in communication and event organisation -both actual and virtual, able to work flexibly at different locations, and with an understanding of the requirements of people with different educational needs, we would love to hear from you.
