Physical performer-acrobat, Can't Sit Still

'Oh No, George!' is the delightfully playful tale of a dog who wants to be good but just can’t resist temptation. Adapted from the award-winning picture book by Chris Haughton, this show for everyone aged 3+ uses acrobatics, slapstick comedy and live music to bring George’s chaotic and joyful escapades to life.

First created in 2020, we will be taking George back out on tour in Spring 2022 to mid-large scale venues across the UK. We are looking for a physical performer-acrobat of any age or gender to play George. This role is played without text, and requires excellent clowning and physical theatre skills. George also needs good acrobatic skills, specifically tumbling and hand balancing - please do not apply unless you have these skills. You must be happy interacting with a young audience, enjoy improvising and are ready to get stuck into the challenges of what it means to be a human playing a four legged animal!

Monday 10th Jan - Friday 28th Jan 2022: Rehearsals at Strode Theatre, Somerset. Full time.

Saturday 29th Jan 2022: Preview at Strode Theatre, Somerset.

Sunday 30th Jan - Monday 28th February: National tour. Full time.

Tuesday 1st March - Sunday 3rd April: National tour. Part time - mostly weekends.

Monday 4th April - Monday 18th April: National tour. Full time.

You will be part of a tight knit team of four on the road, assisting with get ins and get outs at each venue. There will be some long days, so we are looking for hard working, positive team players who can be great representatives for Can’t Sit Still.

A driving license and the willingness to drive a long wheel base van is highly desirable.

To apply, please send a CV and a 2 minute video stating which role you’re applying for and why you’re interested in this job to:

Auditions: One day workshop in Bristol on Saturday 13th November.
