Sales and Events Manager, The 99 Club

The 99 Club is an independent Comedy Club that has been successfully running live comedy shows in the West End for 17 years, having won Best London Comedy Club in the Chortle Awards for 9 years running. We also host online shows for both the general public and the corporate sector which has allowed us to produce comedy shows throughout the lockdown.  We deliver exceptionally high quality shows to audiences and value our ability to offer a supportive environment to artists and a platform for diverse voices.

We are looking for a Sales and Events Manager to join the team to work on our private shows. These are currently all online events, but the role will develop to work on in-person private shows. The candidate will be following each event from initial enquiry to organising the logistics to deliver the event. The role will involve securing clients for single or multiple events and ensuring that the event meets their expectations. 

Essential skills

  • Sales experience - the ability to close a sale and offer great customer service

  • Experience of running live events

  • Excellent organisation skills with an attention to detail

  • Excellent computer skills - competent with creating and using spreadsheets

  • Experience of organising events for multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent knowledge of best practice for marketing events through email, social media and website

  • Experience of managing a team

  • Flexible approach to working, especially with the transition from online to in-person event 

Desirable skills

  • Photo editing for marketing material 

  • Interest in comedy

  • Experience of working on corporate events

  • Experience of Customer Relationship Management

The role is full-time (40 hours a week), predominantly working from home. Once restrictions have eased, there will be 1-2 days a week in the office. Most of the work will be during office hours, but occasional evenings and weekend hours will be required.

Salary: £25-35,000 per annum (+ bonus)
