Applications open MA/MFA Creative Practice, Independent Dance

Description

Delivered by Independent Dance in partnership with Trinity Laban and Siobhan Davies Dance, MA Creative Practice : Dance Professional enables experienced practitioners to develop their artistic practice in a stimulating environment of intellectual and creative inquiry.

It supports mid-career artists to:

  • reflect on their body of professional experience and its role in their ongoing learning

  • engage in intensive studio-based experiences with significant artists and a skilled peer group

  • develop their understanding of a range of research methodologies within the arts and pursue their own area of artistic interest.

The programme works with an expanded notion of dance in dialogue with wide artistic and cultural contexts. It embraces a diversity of forms and approaches, with guest artists of international renown leading practical and discursive sessions and seminars. The programme promotes a fluid and generative exchange between theory and practice, in the belief that knowledge emerges through dance and movement practice itself.
