About Us

The Refresh Art Award was set up in 2017 as a biannual art award to showcase contemporary artists who were making art about the world around them, and not just fruit bowls, flowers and hyperreal portraiture that sells. After our first show in 2019, we are BACK in 2021 to create the next snapshot of the true face of contemporary art now. Refresh are proud to be borderless and open to international entries.

What's in it for you?

  • We've got a £3000 prize for our main award. £300 prize for Our Times and £300 Drawing Special Mention.
  • We'll put on a final show in London in November 2021 for all the shortlisted artists. Shortlisted artists in the final show get paid, and have the opportunity to sell their work with promotion from us and no commission taken.
  • EVERY SINGLE artist who enters will be in our website gallery during 2021, plus feature in ad hoc social media advertising.

Key Information

  • The fee for 1 entry is £10 and £6 for each subsequent entry
  • Artists may submit up to 4 works

The closing date for entries is 11.59pm Friday 2nd July 2021 and the exhibition for short-listed artists will take place on Thurs 4th - Sunday 7th November 2021.
