A ROOM OF CURIOSITIES

and Secret Sketchbooks

WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this art for wellbeing workshop participants will create artworks about the relationship between humans and their ways to collect, create and archive powerful objects. How are human creating memories and identities? We will brainstorm ideas and learn from some of the most outstanding work of Sophy Hollington and Jane Hammond. Sharing ideas, feelings and reflections in the form of gestures on paper we will create a powerful and healthy collective dialogue. Artist Serena Nassini will facilitate participants in the creation of a piece that will integrate contemporary art practices. This class will be inspiring and uplifting!

WHAT YOU WILL USE

  • Two sheets of paper (A4 is ok) to make sketches with
  • One A4 piece of card (a bit smaller or bigger is also fine)
  • A normal pencil (soft if possible) or a black marker
  • Coloured markers, Coloured pencils or any other drawing or painting medium 
  • Optional: Acrylic paint (+2 brushes, palette, water, a cloth), cut out images, interesting objects, tracing paper and carbon paper.
