The Dartington Summer School & Festival, The Dartington Trust

Description

Summer School returns! 24 July – 21 August 2021.

Since 1953, the Dartington Trust has been bringing musicians together for a unique event to learn, perform, collaborate, grow, and experience the joy of music. After an enforced break in 2020, the Music Summer School & Festival returns in July for a true celebration of all things musical.

Over four weeks, musicians of all abilities are invited to learn in small groups from a selection of the very best professionals creating and performing music today. Each week is split into a different genre; early music, baroque and folk, chamber music and jazz and experimental.

Under the wing of artistic director Sara Mohr-Pietsch, musicians such as Stile Antico, The Brodsky Quartet, Anna Meredith, Peter Edwards, Nico Muhly, Rachel Podger and John Butt will be running courses and performing. Plus two new partnerships with The Nest Collective and Cafe OTO.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, course spaces and accommodation capacities are limited. Please book and confirm choices early in order to avoid disappointment. In the event that COVID-19 restrictions prevent a participant’s attendance, or force the festival to postpone, full refunds will be offered.

Courses and Concerts Passes are currently available to book through the Dartington website at dartington.org/summerschool. Enquiries can also be made by telephone on +44 (0)1803 847080, between 10am – 4pm each Wednesday and Friday. Availability of Individual Course Passes and Day Observer Passes will be confirmed at a later date. The full concert programme will be announced in May 2021 along with ticketing details.
