The Nursery and Maydays Present Cabaret Playground

Description

Online Improv Course: Cabaret Playground with Liz Peters

Jazz up your musical improv and put a little more flair into your performance with a romp through various musical theatre styles.

Taking influences from poignant French chansons, sizzling showbiz and more modern musical theatre, we’ll improvise songs from the heartfelt to the bawdy, from tear-jerkers to rocking out. This is an opportunity to expand your range as you take to the stage in your own living room, embrace your inner show-person and let rip.

This course includes:

playing with different genres

singing with soul, humour, character and heart

selling your performance with style

Liz Peters plays with The Maydays, Bumper Blyton and is part of European improv collective, Ohana. She is the creator and host of Unplanned Cabaret, improvised live albums with The Concept and was nominated best female performer at Brighton Fringe Festival awards for her solo musical comedy show. Liz has taught improv around the world and is a trained actress, embodiment coach and speaker. Her book ‘Own It! How to boss your fears, free your voice and inspire the room’ is available in print, e-book and audiobook. www.lizpeters.com.

Joe Samuel is the Musical Director of The Maydays. He is a classically trained pianist and violinist and is one of only a handful of professional improviser musicians in the world. He has directed and played for a baffling array of improv troupes both in the UK and across Europe as well, as playing at IO in Chicago and being the musical director of Improv Festivals in Barcelona, Poland, Romania, Finland, Dublin and of course at the Maydays own festival.
