This Must Be the Place - Micro-Commissions, Cement Fields

Description

Cement Fields invites submissions from artists/or artist collectives based in North Kent, or with a meaningful connection to the area to develop self-guided and site-specific research responding to Ebbsfleet Garden City and its communities.

This new strand of micro-commissions is part of This Must Be the Place, a pioneering three-year creative programme, co-led by young people from Ebbsfleet Garden City and the surrounding areas in collaboration with commissioned artists, to produce site-specific artworks and cultural activities.

The micro-commissions take place between January – June 2021, and will include a public presentation during Estuary 2021 (22 May – 13 June 2021).

Each commissioned artist/artist collective will receive a freelance fee of £2,000, for approximately 10 project days (including planning, contact with communities, partners and the core This Must Be the Place youth cohort), and a production budget of £1,000 (inclusive of VAT).

See the full micro-commission details at cementfields.org/opportunities

The deadline for applications is 9am Monday 18 January.

This Must Be the Place is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, and by Ebbsfleet Development Corporation.
