Writer / Future Forms programme, Donmar Warehouse

FUTURE FORMS will be an 8 week investigative course for writers that will offer participants the opportunity to interrogate the story telling potential and social implications of new technologies such as AI, virtual, augmented and mixed reality and other areas of technological advancement of interest to the group.

The course will involve two sessions a week, for eight weeks between w/c 22 February and w/c 12 April. The exact timings of the sessions will be arranged around the group’s availability. It will all happen on zoom and is open to writers across the UK.

One session each week will involve a presentation from an industry expert on a specific form of technology.

The choice of invited speakers will take account of the group’s stated areas of interest. A second session each week will involve group discussion and optional writing activities in response to the provocation offered by the technology.

All participants will be paid a fee of £1,500.
