Experimenting with Sound in the Rehearsal Room

In this workshop, participants will receive an introduction to audio production software Ableton and how it can be used to introduce sound into the rehearsal process and beyond. The workshop will also take a brief look at how QLab can be used in a similar capacity.
Participants will learn:
-The basics of the Ableton user interface.
-The basics of the QLab (v4) user interface.
-Basic audio principles and terminology.
-Introduction to basic audio effects for manipulating sound in the process of experimentation.
No previous experience is necessary to enjoy this workshop.
About Instructor Mwen:
Mwen is a sound designer, artist, producer, composer and DJ. Mwen’s creative practice blends the worlds of music technology, electronic music, live sound and performance. Mwen's theatre sound design and workshop credits include 'Nightclubbing' (UK/ EU tour), 'The Mob Reformers' (Lyric, Hammersmith), 'My Name is My Own' (Southbank Centre), 'I am [NOT] Kanye West' (The Bunker), 'Tiger Mum' (Soho Theatre), 'The Cobbled Streets of Geneva' (Vault Festival), 'Voice It' (National Theatre Studio). Mwen's compositions and productions have received airplay on BBCR1, BBCR6, XFM, NTS, Rinse FM and been supported by DJs including Rob da Bank, Mary Anne Hobbs and Tom Robinson and synced to TV and fashion film.
