Job Description
We are seeking a Touring Company Manager for our UK-wide, open-air Summer tour of new comedy King Arthur and the Holy Fail.
This is a hands-on role, working closely with a company of four actors, overseeing the day-to-day running of the tour. We are looking for a practical, organised, and people-focused individual with strong communication skills and the ability to problem-solve calmly in a touring environment.
Now in our eleventh year, we have built a reputation as a leading contributor to the UK's Open Air theatre scene, staging ambitious productions at some of the UK's most spectacular historic landmarks.
This is a demanding but hugely rewarding role, offering the chance to travel extensively, work closely with a small creative team, and play a central role in delivering joyful, high-profile performances in extraordinary outdoor settings.
Project Dates: 14 May - 9 September 2026
Pay: £800 per week, plus accommodation throughout the tour and a daily main meal or per diem
We're keen to hear from candidates from a broad range of backgrounds, including (but not limited to) stage management, project management and producing. It is not essential for candidates to have experience working in theatre, and we would welcome applications from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including events, festivals and other sectors.

Job Requirements
The Touring Company Manager will travel with the troupe and manage all day-to-day operations. The role is a multi-faceted one, combining company manager, driver, stage construction manager, front-of-house manager, and overall team leader. The touring team is made up of 4 actors, and 1 touring company manager.
Desired Skills and Personality Traits
- Experience managing small teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Practically minded, with the ability to juggle competing demands and problem solve
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A driver of 2+ years, with a valid and clean driving license. Experience driving a van is preferred but not essential.
- Basic set construction and maintenance skills are preferred but not essential.
This role will suit practically minded individuals, with excellent personal communication skills and a taste for adventure! We are looking for an individual who will lead the team with professionalism and care.
Job Responsibilities
- Managing the company on tour, acting as a team leader, and supporting the troupe
- Liaising with venues regarding performance arrangements, timings and any other matters that may arise
- Drawing up daily call times in accordance with the touring schedule, and communicating this to company members
- Being the principal mode of contact between the touring troupe and The Three Inch Fools production team, and other team members
- Driving the van between venues and being responsible for the touring vehicles and their safety
- Undertaking and co-ordinating get-ins and get-outs of the productions at each venue, including the setup and take-down of the company's touring stage
- Recording and maintaining accurate time-sheets for the company
- Undertaking any maintenance or repair issues as they arise
