Event Summary
Event Description
Gainsborough parents! We've got spaces available in our FREE creative writing group for 10-17s!
Taking place at the immersive Gainsborough Old Hall, our Gainsborough Young Writers' Group is the perfect Saturday morning activity for your 10- to 17-year-old and their friends to encourage their creativity and unleash their imagination.
There's no pressure to join every single workshop, no previous creative writing experience needed and absolutely no cost. Whether your young person loves to write or wants to try out a fun new hobby and make some friends, everybody's welcome!
In each session, your young writer will take part in fun creative writing exercises and have the opportunity to share their writing if they would like to (although there is never any pressure). There will also be the opportunity to perform at events and take part in work experience opportunities.
And don't worry if you can't make all the workshop dates! Sessions are planned as one-off meetings so you don't have to commit to the whole programme if your young person has a busy schedule.
Our Gainsborough Young Writers' Group takes place at Gainsborough Old Hall on Saturdays from 10 - 11.30 am on the following dates 2025-26:
11th October
8th November
20th December
10th January
14th February
14th March
25th April
16th May
20th June
All you need to do is sign up and turn up!

We do this by running workshops and writing courses, arranging mentoring relationships and manuscript appraisals, offering one-to-one career development sessions, organising conferences and helping with festivals and events around the region.
