Arts Jobs Privacy Notice

Arts Council England is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy notice tells you what to expect when we collect personal data from you when you use the Arts Jobs service.

Arts Council England is the data controller for the Arts Jobs service. Our national office is located at The Hive 49 Lever Street, Manchester M1 1FN.

We collect and process your personal data in accordance with applicable law. This includes, without limitation, the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the UK Data Protection Act 2018 together with other applicable UK laws that regulate the collection, processing and privacy of your personal data.

What data do we collect from you?

To register for the Arts Jobs or Arts Events service you will be asked to provide an email address and to create a password. You will also be able to set preferences to receive job alerts and arts and culture event alerts.

When posting a job or an event to the site you can enter additional details but as all postings are displayed publicly on the site only include details you want to share publicly.

How we use of your data

We will use the data we collect from you only for the following purposes:

  • to provide the Arts Jobs service to you
  • to improve the service, to notify you of any changes to the service or our terms and conditions of use
  • to send you alerts if you have signed up to receive alerts about new jobs posted that meet your preferences or to send you arts and culture events if you have chosen to subscribe to Arts Events.

We will rely on our legitimate interest in providing you with the Arts Jobs services which is in line with our core mission of funding, developing and advocating for the arts, museums and libraries. If you sign up to alerts, we will rely on your consent to send you relevant listings and event. You can unsubscribe at any time by updating your account preferences.

We will only share your data with our data processor who we have appointed to manage the site for us. We will not share your data with any other third party.

We will keep your data for as long as your user account remains active on the Arts Jobs service. Data is stored within the EU.

Your Rights

Under the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about our processing of your personal data
  • Request access to your personal data and information about how we process it
  • Request that your personal data is amended if inaccurate and that incomplete personal data is completed
  • Request the restriction or suppression of your personal data
  • Request the erasure or deletion of your personal data
  • Move, copy or transfer personal data (Data Portability) - where the processing is based on consent or for the performance of a contract; and when processing is carried out by automated means.
  • Object to the processing of your personal data
  • Be informed about automated decision-making and profiling.
  • Withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal data where our processing of your data is based on consent.
