Do you want to write about dance? Are you looking to gain experience as a dance journalist? The Place is looking for 7 emerging writers for Resolution Review 2026.

Resolution is the UK's biggest dance festival for new choreography, with performances featuring bold new ideas and movement in triple-billed evenings across 20 nights. This year the festival will run from Fri 9 Jan - Wed 25 Feb 2026 at The Place in central London.

The Place is recruiting seven reviewers for Resolution Review 2026, the digital magazine accompanying the festival with reviews of all the performances that take place.

Resolution Review is a unique programme that offers aspiring writers a chance to develop their skills through workshops and a mentoring programme, attend performances, and write and publish their reviews alongside professional critics. The reviews are published on The Place's website.

Previous participants in this programme have gone on to be regular writers for publications including The Stage, Time Out, The Guardian and Dancing Times. Several have set up their own successful blogs.

You don't need to be a dance expert. We are looking for people who have a flair for writing and can communicate their responses honestly and in a way that makes people want to read, watch, listen and get engaged.

The successful applicants will be mentored by our team of professionals and will have access to seminars and workshops including a session on dance writing, its history, future and current working practices. Aspiring writers will also be invited to the opening and closing nights where they can network with professional critics.

Resolution Reviewers must be able to commit to a minimum of three nights across the festival. You must also be able to travel to The Place, central London for these performances.
