Event Summary
Event Description
About the Mentoring Programme:
A central part UNFURL's mission is to support, encourage and educate emerging creatives and empower a new generation of muralists, with a focus on female identifying artists and artists from underrepresented communities.
For each project UNFURL will appoint a mentee/s who will work alongside them for the duration of each project and assist on the mural install. The mentorship programme is ideal for artists looking to begin working with murals, newly graduated/student (18+) artists or emerging entry level muralists.
This is a free exchange programme with no charge to the mentee, meaning mentees will receive free mentorship in exchange for their assistance in the mural installation.
Project Details:
This mentoring round will centre around our upcoming public art mural project at Thrybergh Park, Rotherham. This project will run from April - May 2026.
About the Programme:
Mentees will receive 1-1 sessions with Rebecca & Natasha exploring mural projects from start to finish, including pitching, negotiation, pricing, community engagement, design, installation and evaluation.
Access Needs:
Mentees will be directly involved in the physical installation and painting of the artwork. The role is also physically demanding so please let us know of any access needs or if you would like to discuss this before applying.
All applications will be considered and we particularly welcome applicants who are female identifying, based in South Yorkshire or near, early career artists or students, artists from working class backgrounds and/or neurodivergent artists.
