Event Summary
Event Description
Join us on Thursday 26 February at 5pm to watch 'Where is Anne Frank', our next FREE film screening from Cultures of Film in partnership with Holocaust Centre North.
Where Is Anne Frank (2021) is an animated drama directed by Ari Folman that offers a magic-realism re-imagining of the story of Anne Frank. Instead of following Anne directly, the film brings to life Kitty - the imaginary friend to whom Anne addressed her famous diary entries - in present-day Amsterdam. Unaware that more than 75 years have passed and believing her friend must still be alive, Kitty sets out on a heartfelt quest across modern Europe to find Anne. As she travels, she revisits vivid flashbacks from Anne's life during World War II, explores the legacy of the Holocaust, and encounters contemporary issues such as displacement and refugees, blending history with a fantasy-tinged adventure and reflections on humanity and memory.
