Event Description

Discover how to make 'floragraphs' - silver bromide prints made from organic materials in daylight.

In this one-day workshop the photographic power of foraged flowering weeds, edible leaves, vegetables, seeds and other botanical matter will be harnessed to create prints which lie somewhere between photography, painting, drawing and printmaking. You will explore how to use a selection of alternative, camera-less photographic techniques including lumen prints, phytograms and natural chemigrams to produce stunning images. Botanicals will be used as both raw material for making your developers and subject matter for the prints created. You will leave with a selection of unique prints and a set of techniques you can use anywhere from your kitchen or garden, to more exotic locations.

No previous photography or darkroom experience necessary.

All materials included in the fee.
