This full-day workshop is designed to open you up to the myriad playful and experimental ways to approach darkroom image-making. It will give you the tools to start making your prints more surreal, abstract, textured or layered.

You will be encouraged to try a range of techniques from negative sandwiching, photograms, paper negatives and texture overlays.

Processes will be demonstrated in the morning, but the bulk of your time will be spent experimenting with your own images, with help and guidance from the tutor, encouraging experimentation and play while helping you refine your results.

By the end of the day, you'll leave with a collection of unique prints and the skills to keep experimenting in the darkroom on your own.

Participants should preferably already have a basic understanding of darkroom printing but this is not absolutely essential.
