Free clowning workshops in Southport, March-May 2026. Train with experienced clown teacher Richard Talbot, in the lead up to Southport's Big Top Festival 2026.

Event Description

Get into clowning! Create your own unique clown character; design costume and makeup concepts; learn physical skills, and playful interaction techniques. These workshops are delivered by top clown Richard Talbot aka 'Kurt Zarniko'. They offer accessible, high-quality training, for participants from across Liverpool City Region, Sefton Borough and Merseyside Workshops will involve games and simple exercises, costume and character ideas, on the theme of "a clown family daytrip" By the end of the course, participants should be able to perform a group 10-minute clown improvisation. No Experience Required. The workshops are free of charge and open to anyone aged 18+ whether you have experience of clowning and performing or are a first time fool! Laughter & Stupidity Guaranteed. In the lead up to Southport 2026's Big Top Festival weekend, New Heritage Performance are offering these free clowning workshops with support from Southport 2026 and Sefton Borough Council.
