Event Summary
Event Description
Collusion presents ART // TECH // PLAY LIVE at Anglia Ruskin University. This edition features artists using digital tools in imaginative ways to examine and nurture both the emotional and physical health of communities. Expect thought-provoking talks, interactive demos, and a chance to connect with others.
Guest speakers:
- https://www.wesleygoatley.com/index.html - Wesley Goatley - critical artist and researcher, whose work interrogates the relations between the AI industry, the climate crisis, and the social impacts of digital technology.
- Multidisciplinary artist https://www.annabrownsted.com/ - Anna Brownsted joined by collaborators Professor of Architecture and Environmental Policy Minna Sunikka-Blank (University of Cambridge) and Professor of Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience David Pearson (ARU), who will be sharing and discussing a preview of their film, Survey - exploring walking and wearable tech to capture personal responses in urban green spaces.
- https://www.jwnorton.co.uk/ - James W. Norton, visual artist and founder of na/films. He creates art, film, sound, and installation in places undergoing ecological and cultural change, exploring the entanglement of humans, technology, and the natural world. Recent projects with Natural England, Abbey Ward, Cambridge University, and the Untold Stories initiative examine how communities can co-shape futures, responding to the long shadow of the Anthropocene. He is an Associate Lecturer at ARU and the RCA.
Alongside the artist talks, expect interactive demos with gaze tracking glasses, a showcase of work by ARU MA students, and plenty of time for conversations.
Tickets are pay what you feel, £10 suggested. We can't wait to see you there!
