Event Summary
Event Description
Are You Seeing This champions, platforms and screens new and emerging filmmakers through their social channels and screening events. With each event a new theme is introduced, and we are looking for work to screen in the upcoming programme's over 2026. Each event has films, filmmaker to filmmaker discussions, audience questions, time to network, and a chance to grab a drink and meet pals; new and old!
AYST has filmmaking - and supporting up and coming filmmakers - at its very core. Submissions are totally open on a rolling basis so anyone can submit anything, at any time; but this is our big open call for the upcoming year. The themed screenings are created off submitted content and give space to the filmmakers to really get into their stories and their craft with other filmmakers in their Q&A's; whilst also giving a varied audience the chance to ask them more about their stories, techniques, and inspirations.
Each event is ticketed and all the money made is put into the annual filmmaker fund. This fund is totally open and can be applied for for any part of the filmmaking process - with the promise of the end product being screened at a future event. There are also cheap and free spots available for every event, so no one misses out due to a lack of funds.
(There is no fee to submit or screen!)
