Event Description
BARON was launched in 2011 as an independent art and photography book publisher exploring sex, sexuality, gender and identity. Today, BARON is stocked worldwide in 20 different countries, and many of BARONS' books are in collections, including the book collections at MoMA NYC and The LUMA Foundation.
The Seventh edition of the BARON PRIZE recognises artists, photographers, and filmmakers who have created projects investigating gender, sex, sexuality, and identity. Submissions for the BARON PRIZE is now open to artists, filmmakers, and photographers working in any medium, from anywhere in the world. The winner will receive £5,000 supported, along with a selection of Baron Books, valued at £1,000.

How to Book
The BARON PRIZE celebrates work that demonstrates conceptual strength alongside a developing ethical and critical awareness of themes surrounding sex, sexuality, gender, and identity. Submissions may be new or existing work, archival or unpublished. We welcome artists, photographers, and filmmakers of any medium from around the world, provided you are aged 18 or older. Your entry should include both the work itself and a written context.
