Event Description
About the Collaboration
BGB Media invites submissions from LGBTQ+ filmmakers with completed or near-complete work for inclusion in our curated archive and distribution programme. We prioritise films from marginalised and under-represented communities, with particular interest in African, Caribbean, Afro-Latino, Asian, and diaspora perspectives.
This is a project-based, non-salaried collaboration, not employment. Selected films are distributed under a transparent agreement that includes:
- Revenue participation
- Full copyright retained by the filmmaker
- Non-exclusive or exclusive terms discussed individually, depending on existing distribution
Why Submit to BGB Media
Many LGBTQ+ films complete a festival run without securing long-term distribution or contextual care. BGB Media focuses on sustained visibility rather than one-off screenings, pairing films with editorial framing and an international audience actively seeking overlooked queer cinema.
What We Are Looking For
We welcome submissions of:
- Short films and feature-length documentaries
- Work centred on LGBTQ+ lives, with attention to place, culture, and specificity
- Films with a clear authorial voice
- Projects that are completed or close to completion
- Work where the filmmaker holds the rights or is authorised to represent them
This Programme Is Best Suited For
- Films that have completed a festival run or received limited exposure
- Projects seeking ongoing visibility rather than a single screening
- Filmmakers interested in audience development alongside revenue participation
