Writing Urban Fantasy Online writing workshop from Nottingham Writers Studio Thursday 14th May, 6:30pm-8:30pm (UK time) Tickets £7.21 to £13.70 from https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/writing-urban-fantasy-with-alex-davis-tickets-1985363409402 In this writing workshop, we'll be exploring the exciting and fantastical world of Urban Fantasy, which seeks to bring the creatures of horror and epic fantasy into the real world. This session will look at examples of the genre, techniques to help you write within the field and exercises to send you away with fresh concepts and ideas. THE TUTOR Alex Davis is a writer, lecturer and events organiser based in Derby. Much of his work focuses on horror, particularly folk horror and ghost stories, including organiser the Darkness in the Fields series of events and the UK Ghost Story Festival annually. He is a lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Derby and has also taught across media, journalism and art at De Montfort University. He has also run hundreds of writing workshops and courses online and across the East Midlands.
