Join Chris Chinnock on Wednesday 15 April at 1pm for this FREE hands-on workshop which will introduce you to participatory and socially engaged approaches to filmmaking. Together we will explore how film can be used as a tool for reflection, storytelling, and social connection. The session will begin with a short discussion and viewing of examples from socially engaged film practice within the exhibition space. Participants will then take part in a short video walk, using their phones to capture short clips, images, and moments that feel meaningful or interesting. Back in the gallery space, we will explore ways of shaping these fragments into stories. The workshop is open to anyone interested in creative storytelling, participatory practice, or socially engaged art. No filmmaking experience is required.
