Join us for a FREE talk on Thursday 23 April at 1pm with Dr Milton Brown, Director of KLTV, about filmmaking, representation and community voice in Kirklees.

Event Description

Through reflections on practice, film screenings and an open discussion with audiences, this session will consider how local media can foreground lived experience, support participation and stimulate more inclusive ways of storytelling. The event will look at the intricacies of filmmaking with communities, which perspectives are given space on screen, and how film can contribute to dialogue, visibility and cultural agency. Open to anyone with an interest in film, community media, oral history and local storytelling.
