Event Description
Horninghold Heritage wish to appoint a dynamic, young adult, aged 18-30, who is looking to gain experience of organising events in the heritage/creative sector. The role will provide between 9 and 10 days of work over a 4 month period, with the pattern of work subject to negotiation. The successful candidate will be involved in creating and organising an event for Heritage Open Days in September (probably 11th or 12th) which is targeted at a young adult audience. You will work with the Heritage Activity Coordinator on the event and they will support you with training around event creation and production. This means you will gain by working with a person who has had considerable experience of event organisation. The venue for the event is St Peter's Church in Horninghold, LE16 8DH, a rural east Leicestershire village. Although much of the work can be done remotely, you will need to live in the East Midlands area and be able to travel to the site which has no public transport link. A fee of £1,000 is payable for the project, to include all expenses. This will be paid on successful completion of the event, although a portion of it could be made available sooner on negotiation. Horninghold Heritage is a National Lottery Heritage Funded initiative based around the restoration of the village church. This particular project is part of the National Heritage Days New Wave, which is a youth engagement project focused on the co-creation of new, innovative Heritage Open Days events with young adults, it is designed to create more events in Leicestershire which appeal to young adults. Please send a covering letter explaining your interest in and suitability for the role, along with an up to date CV to Martin Smith at [email protected] by Sunday 19th April.
